Get Your Ride – College for a Year Giveaway - Contest Rules
May 15 - June 30

Participants in the contest resulting in a prize or award must be eligible for a traditional, full-time bachelor’s degree program, unless otherwise specified. Satisfactory proof of identification must be presented before claiming a prize if the prize is not mailed.
A person may enter on behalf of another person in their immediate family (unless otherwise specified); however, the prize must be rendered to an individual who applies and eventually is admitted to Charleston Southern University.
There may only be one winner of any contest per household during a one-year period.
Charleston Southern University (Sponsor) is not responsible for lost or delayed mail, for telephone or fax equipment failures, for on-site locations, or for email system malfunctions causing a contestant to lose or delay the chance to participate.
Sponsor will keep a file of customized rules for each promotion.
Employees of Charleston Southern University, the contestant’s volunteers, and persons involved with providing the prize or award, or immediate families of such employees, volunteers, and persons, are not eligible to win. (Volunteers who volunteer between May 1, 2025 and June 30, 2025)
Winners are responsible for any and all taxes associated with winning the prize. Winners will need to sign a W-9 form, provided by the contest, before receiving any prizes valued at over $600.
The Winner must apply for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Federal and state aid will be applied and not be refunded to the Winner. Tuition, housing, and food coverage are subject to Charleston Southern University’s maximum free aid policy. Confirmation of final award will be applied by CSU’s Student Financial Services.
The Grand Prize is applicable for any traditional, in-person bachelor’s degree program at Charleston Southern University. Some programs are specialized and require clinical, lab, or training fees. The Winner will be responsible for any charges beyond the standard tuition rate, standard housing rate, and standard meal plan.
Participants must be US citizens for prizes valued at $600 or greater, unless otherwise specified.
Prizes have no cash equivalent and are not transferable.
Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of similar value in its sole discretion, either before or after a winner has been selected.
Sponsor will have sole discretion to decide any questions concerning the interpretation of rules governing the promotion and the administration of the promotion, and such decisions shall be final.
The promotion rules may be amended at any time by the contest without prior notice. However, all changes will be published on the contest’s website and effective as of that date.
In the case of a tie, the Sponsor reserves the right to choose the winner by any method it deems appropriate.
The Sponsor reserves the right to reject or discard any incomplete or confusing entry and any entry not submitted in accordance with promotion rules.
No promotion, promotion rules, or explanations thereof shall be construed or implemented in any way which violates applicable laws and regulations, including FCC rules and regulations.
Participants will not have any expectation of privacy concerning the information submitted or the announcement of winners. The Sponsor reserves the right to use such information for any purpose as the contest deems appropriate.
Prizes valued at $600.00 or higher must be claimed within 7 days of notification or the prizes will be forfeited. The contest assumes no liability for the delivery of prizes.
Submission of an entry or response shall constitute acceptance of the promotion rules and a waiver of any and all claims against Charleston Southern University and any entity related to the promotion.
No purchase or donation is necessary to enter.
Each contestant will be required to sign a release form before his or her prize will be awarded. Contestants will be responsible for all applicable fees and taxes, including state, local and federal, and therefore must present a valid Social Security Card before claiming the prize.
The decision of the judges (Charleston Southern University) in the interpretation of these rules is final. By participating, persons agree to be bound by the decisions of the judges and the official rules. The decision of the judges is final.
If the winner is found in violation of these rules, he/she may be required to forfeit his/her prize.
Individuals participating in this contest promoted on or entered through the contest’s Facebook/Instagram page release Facebook/Instagram of any liability or further claims. Participants also acknowledge that this contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook/Instagram. Information collected by the contest, for entry into this contest, is not provided to Facebook/Instagram.
Sponsor of the contest is not responsible for any liabilities arising directly or indirectly from the award or use of the prize.
Contest dates are May 15, 2025 to June 30, 2025. The prize for this contest will be awarded prior to July 12, 2025.
How to Enter. An Eligible Entrant may enter the Promotion by visiting the Charleston Southern and HisRadio table at any off-campus event location or online through the following steps:

Second, by applying to Charleston Southern University at charlestonsouthern.edu/apply.

An Entrant may enter this contest only once. The link is not reusable. Winner will be selected at random.

Should any potential Finalist not meet the eligibility criteria or be found, in Charleston Southern University's sole discretion, to not comply with these Official Rules, such potential winner will be disqualified and Charleston Southern University may select an alternative potential winner.
Grand Prize Description. The “Grand Prize” is one year of college tuition, housing, and food at Charleston Southern University. The approximate retail value of the Grand Prize will be based on the standard undergraduate tuition, standard housing, and standard meal plan for one academic year. The depiction of the prize in any Promotion-related advertising or promotional materials may not reflect all included or excluded features. The Grand Prize Winner is solely responsible for any additional costs not covered by the giveaway (including but not limited to lab fees, technology fees, student fees, and any other miscellaneous fees). Most course materials are included in tuition. Some courses will require the student to purchase additional materials. Prize details and availability are subject to change. The Grand Prize must be claimed and enrollment for the awarded academic year must begin no later than Fall 2026 or the prize will be forfeited.
Prize Deferral Option:  The Grand Prize Winner has up to one year to apply this prize. The Winner may request a one-time deferral of up to one academic year (until Fall 2026) by submitting a written request to Charleston Southern University no later than July 31, 2025. The University reserves the right to approve or deny the deferral request at its sole discretion. If the winner does not enroll by the approved deferral deadline, the prize will be forfeited.
