 | | Plenary Talk: “Kissing Jesus Goodbye: Why Some People are Deconstructing and How to Think About It” Putman joined Southeastern Seminary’s faculty in 2025 as professor of theology. Previously, Putman taught for 15 years at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and served for five years at his undergraduate alma mater, Williams Baptist University, first as associate vice president for academic affairs and then as vice president of academic affairs. Putman has published multiple theological works in the past years, including When Doctrine Divides the People of God (Crossway, 2020); The Method of Christian Theology: A Basic Interpretation (B&H Academic, 2021); Conceived by the Holy Spirit: The Virgin Birth in Scripture and Theology (B&H Academic, 2024). He has also served in a number of pastoral roles over the past 20 years — most recently as senior pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Walcott, Arkansas. Putman is married to Micah, and they have two children.

 | | “You Can’t Defend a Faith You Don’t Know” Dr. Jonathan Watson serves as Chair and Professor of Christian Studies and Executive Director of the Faith and Learning Institute. He received his Doctor of Philosophy in systematic theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (Ft. Worth, TX) and started teaching at CSU in 2015. He is the author of In the Name of Our Lord: Four Models of the Relationship between Baptism, Catechesis, and Communion published in 2021 by Lexham Press in their Studies in Systematic and Historical Theology Series. Dr. Watson, his wife Karen, and their four children are members at Northwood Baptist Church (North Charleston, SC), where he serves on staff as Associate Pastor of Ministry Training.
